In the face of severe hunger, our convoys set off to distribute food baskets in poor areas. Every basket we provide is not just food, but rather a lifeline that reassures exhausted parents and puts a satisfied smile on the faces of their children.
Many regions in Somalia suffer from successive humanitarian crises and harsh climatic conditions, which have exacerbated frightening rates of hunger and malnutrition. Thousands of families live in dire conditions below the poverty line, as parents struggle daily to secure the most basic nutritional needs for their children, leaving them vulnerable to health risks and diseases associated with lack of food. In light of this tragic situation, these vulnerable people do not have many options, and urgent food aid becomes an absolute necessity to save lives and provide a lifeline to those who have lost all means of resilience.
Sensing this humanitarian duty, 4Relief is launching its field project to support food security and combat hunger by distributing integrated food baskets in the poorest and most marginalized areas in Somalia. These baskets contain basic food items that will last a family for weeks, which relieves them of the burden of thinking about their next meal.
